There is something really special when you host a linky on your blog: you discover new sites and new people, you enrich your cookery skills but most importantly you get that exciting feeling of “It’s happening now on my blog!”. It feels great to see new recipes linking up one by one!
I really want to thank everyone who has entered Credit Crunch Munch.
I have my own cooking style which, as you might have guessed, is mainly Italian but do not think that I never eat or attempt to cook Indian, English, Mexican.. or anything different to Italian. I do love tickling my tastebuds with different flavours. During the first two years of living in the UK I hardly ever touched Italian food as I was fascinated by all the different flavours and new foods available over here. I felt like a new baby discovering new tastes for the first time.
So here I had the chance to broaden my skills..but now I won’t say anything more, grab a good cup of tea or coffee (or.. here we go again..an espresso!), sit back and let this fab showcase begin!
As we are well into winter now Jane kicks things off with her gorgeous Sausage and Cider Casserole which makes a good nutritious meal for any day of the week. Sausages, bacon, mushrooms and cider seem like the perfect combination to me. Looks succulent!
Ema with her Imam Bayildi or Middle Eastern Inspired aubergine and tomato stew has really inspired me. This is a great dish served with cheese like feta, couscous or bread and it is perfect for sharing too.
A spicy tomato-bacon mushroom pasta by Charlene over at Food Glorius Food is a warm and hearty dish ideal for those cold winter nights!
This Curried pumpkin soup made by Camilla looks delicious. I love her addition of curry paste and coconut milk which combined with pumpkin must be divine.
These Easy mashed potatoes cakes by Vanesther make an easy accompaniment to sausages. A great way to use leftover mashed potatoes; a very good money saving recipe indeed.
Fish Tacos with Red Cabbage and Celeriac Coleslaw made by Janice are a good alternative to the classic meat tacos and surely lighter too. This is a dish I would love to tuck into. Looks fresh and healthy.
Lentil and Mushroom Pie made by Heidi is a very good vegetarian pie and lentils are an excellent source of protein. This pie looks really cute 🙂
Ros made a fabulous spiced Carrot, ginger and rum spiced cake using the Speculaas spice mix (which I use too). A perfumed and aromatic cake!
This Roasted Red Pepper and garlic soup by Lancashire Food makes me happy just by looking at it. Roasting peppers enhances their flavour and intensifies their sweetness.
This Tomato and basil soup with cheese toast by Utterly Scrummy Food for Families is a classic timeless soup. Michelle has used basil growing from her garden so you can imagine the fab flavour of this soup!
Stuffed Butternut Squash from Corina of Searching for Spice with cannellini beans and melted cheese on top is an original and tasty idea.
Slow Cookery Thanksgiving Dressing from Miss South is a stuffing with cranberries, sage and bacon. Good for Thanksgiving and Christmas too!
Alnwick Stew made by Jibber Jabber UK is a simple and frugal recipe. A Northcumberland dish with bacon perfect for family meals.
This Pea and Coriander Soup in a flash by Eat your Veg ready in only 10 minutes is a must try! It really does not take long to make a healthy and delicious soup.
A Kale roasted cranberry and smoked almond salad by How to Cook Good Food looks so Christmassy to me. A good way to bring out the flavour of Kale which leaves can be quite sturdy and tough sometimes. The cranberries and almonds are a good addition to this salad.
A frugal collection of Frugal recipes for £ 2 from Elizabeth for #breadlinechallenge from breakfast to dinner is a perfect example on how cheap healthy meals can be!
These intriguing Oatmeal Raisin Energy Bites from Elizabeth made with porridge and raisins are very creative. The flatbread, chickpeas and kale salad and the spaghetti with tomato sauce and garlic bread are another example of a perfect frugal day.
De Tout Coeur Limousin entered a stew called Bigos which is typical Polish. A hearty and warming dish with the addition of lovely fennel seeds. A very interesting dish indeed.
And these lovely Chilly Chocolate Madeleines could have only come from Choclette the queen of chocolate. How interesting to add chilly to chocolate!
Nutella Brioche Pudding by Camilla is a great temptation. Hands up who does not like Nutella?! 🙂
My rustic Polenta and Almond cake is a cheap and “humble” cake to make. But very addictive indeed!
With Christmas just around the corner this alcohol-free Mulled Grape Juice by Heidi is a fab idea and a healthy substitute to the traditional mulled wine.
And last but not least a great dessert with these Slow Cooker Pear and Chocolate individual Puddings from Sarah James look ever so cute and chocolate and pear are just the perfect combination!
