Joseph Joseph nest storage review and giveaway

My fridge is always full. Hubby always says that I cook too much food every time and I simply cannot do normal portions. This is because normal portions don’t exist in my mind and I believe this was instilled in me during my growing up in Italy.

I like food to be plentiful and I don’t like anyone in my house to say that they have not eaten enough. If you then invite someone and there is not enough food that’s bad manners for a start!

This means that there are often leftovers in my house but they certainly won’t go to waste. I buy good quality and often organic food and we cannot afford to waste anything.

This is why I was so pleased to review Joseph Joseph nest storage kit. Joseph Joseph create functional, problem-solving beautiful household products. I never have enough of those handy storage boxes.

These are no ordinary boxes though. You get some style here too. They just look so smart, so colourful comprised of locking lids with corresponding nestable containers so you can stack them together and save room in your cupboard.

Joseph Joseph storage boxes

I quickly filled them up with granola, fruit and veg, soup and I know I will make good use of them. They are dishwasher safe.. which is good as I do enough washing up every day! You can also put them in the freezer and in your microwave. I usually make ragu’ sauce for pasta in a batch and freeze half of it and these will be perfect for that.

Joseph Joseph storage boxes

I like their rubber seal and I like the fact that they are colour coordinated so you won’t lose your lids which have two easy-pull tabs for easy opening. They have a corresponding color-coded dots to match the lids with the containers.

The good news is that today I am giving one set of these away courtesy of Joseph Joseph.

My favourite meal ever was in a family-run restaurant in a small town in the Black Forest, where I had a stew made from lots of different wild mushrooms, served with little potato dumplings. The stew was delicious and I have tried in vain to recreate it, as I do not know exactly the types of mushroom that were used. The cook told us that she always bought the mushrooms from an old man who collected the mushrooms, as he was the only person she trusted not to mistakenly pick any poisonous fungi.

I’m going to choose roast turkey dinner with all the little extras you get at christmas like roast potatoes and little bacon-wrapped sausages. And the delicious turkey gravy of course.

Dessert would be a toss up between pavlova, strawberry gateau, and a store-bought birthday cake (I know it’s all kinds of wrong but I love those blasted things!).

You roast the veggies and then add a tin of mixed beans, tinned tomatoes and spices to taste, chilli, cinammon, whatever you fancy (you can add baked beans for children so that it has a sweeter taste) and let it cook for about 30 minutes. I serve it with sliced avocado on the top and a poached egg, but it’s a perfect meal to cook in advance and store in boxes, or take to work for lunch if you can re-heat it.
