• 70 g flour
  • 30 g almonds
  • 30 g hazelnuts
  • 50 g sugar
  • 50 g dark chocolate
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • a pinch of salt
  • 50 g of butter

Time for something delicious, time for something romantic:  time for Baci di Dama!

Italian Baci di Dama are crunchy little treats made with nuts, flour and butter and made to stick together with a kiss of dark chocolate.

They come originally from Tortona in Piemonte where the same recipe has been used for over 100 years.

A delicious treat, very easy to make and just so perfect for Valentines day!

Directions:

Chop the nuts finely then mix them up with the flour on your work surface

Add the diced butter, salt, sugar, vanilla essence and shape it quickly into a ball

Wrap it in cling film and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes

Take it out of the fridge and shape it into little balls of about 5 gr each

Put them onto a baking tray covered in baking paper. Cook in a hot oven at 160C for about 25 minutes until lightly golden

Take the biscuits out of the oven and let them cool down. In the meantime melt the chocolate by putting it into a bowl on top of a pot of simmering water

With a spoon stick the biscuits together with a few drops of the melted chocolate

ENJOY!

I am entering my Baci di Dama into the weekly “Made with Love Mondays” hosted by Javelin Warrior.
