Very easy to make a very pretty indeed, nice to decorate your house, the sort of thing children would love to make and to eat!

Incorporate the butter and the flour together. Add the sugar, eggs, lemon zest and vanilla and make it into a ball. Wrap it in cling film and put it in the fridge to rest for 30 minutes.
Sorting them by colour, put the sweeties in a plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
With the rolling pin roll the pastry flat and with a pastry cutter shape them into a heart, then with a smaller cutter make a hole in the middle;
Lay the hearts on a sheet of baking paper on a baking tray and fill the holes with the crushed sweeties. You can pierce them with a straw to hang them up if you wish.
Cook them at 180C for 10-12 minutes until they turn slightly golden but make sure you don't over cook them.
Wait for them to cool down before removing them from the baking tray.
