Peppers with crunchy breadcrumbs – easy recipe

Hello my friends! I have a tasty recipe for you today.

Let's make peppers super delicious. How? By adding breadcrumbs to them, a clove of garlic, herbs and olive oil.

Nothing too complicated and that's how most recipes should be. These are the kind of recipes I always end up making over and over again.

I love peppers and I enjoy photographing them too. Their bright colours make them ideal subjects for still life photography which I am practising at the moment.

  • Prep Time : 15 minutes
  • Cook Time : 25 minutes


For this recipe I have used different types of peppers. I particularly love these long red peppers as they are so sweet.


Wash the peppers, remove seeds and filaments and cut them into strips.

In a pan heat up 3 tbsp of olive oil with a clove of garlic. Add the peppers, 1 tbsp of dried oregano or a few leaves of fresh basil, salt to taste and cook them until soft with the lid on for 20 minutes whilst stirring from time to time.

Cooking peppers

Remove the garlic clove, add the breadcrumbs, stir well and continue cooking them for a further few minutes until the breadcrumbs look nice and golden. Serve warm with an extra drizzle of olive oil if you wish.

      I always like to cook peppers, even if just for a minute of two on the griddle pan. They get much more tasty !
